The Condominium Association has commissioned Landmark Preservation Consulting, LLC (LPC) to conduct an Exterior Conditions Assessment for the Hastings’ Seeds Lofts. The purpose of this assessment is to document the building’s current condition, identify building deficiencies and to make recommendations for future treatment of the building. The report will also prioritize repairs and create a capital budget to assist in long-term planning. It focuses on restoring the building to a period of significance and on stabilizing the exterior to prevent future loss.

In 1913, the Mackle & Crawford Construction Company built this warehouse for the F.J. Cooledge and Sons Company, a glass and paint manufacturer. In 1940, the building was sold to the Hastings’ Seed Company, for use as a landscape supply store as well as shipping and receiving. In 1994, the building was rehabilitated into loft apartments and gallery space on the lower level.
